Karnataka Bank’s Website: Rebuilding a Digital Legacy

Karnataka Bank celebrated their centenary in 2024, and as a part of their victory lap they decided to entirely overhaul their website. Their goal with the bank website design was to transform it entirely: not just an aesthetic revamp of its traditional look, but a 360 degree change in architecture, experience, and interface. Knowing the trust behind the Karnataka Bank name, we took on the challenge of crafting a website that can both satisfy the bank’s long term users while attracting new customers with its oomph factor.

Collaborative Discovery

To kickstart the project, we held a Discovery Session at Karnataka Bank’s Headquarters in Bangalore. In this deep-dive into their ecosystem, we understood first-hand their expectations and requirements from the website. Part of these discussions were the C-suite executives of the company. The Managing Director’s vision was clear: to position Karnataka Bank as a century-old bank that has the enterprising spirit of a startup.

StartUp @ 100

As a project launched on the centenary of Karnataka Bank, the new website was not only a revamp but also a celebration. The angle we took for the website, aided by our sessions with the Karnataka Bank team, was to position the bank as a Start Up @ 100: to showcase its modern, pioneering outlook even as it was backed by the legacy of a century.

Digitalising Banking

Our UX emphasis was to build a website that drives business. Not just a brochure of services–each bank web page design would be fully equipped with digital onboarding journeys and user insights to track and foster business growth. This meant that we needed to have an intimate understanding of the nitty-gritties of the bank’s offerings and to match these with the right information flow and aesthetics.

Speed is Everything!

Rebuilding the Karnataka Bank Website involved intensive research, collaboration, and design. Despite the considerable scale of the revamp, our timelines were clear: the project had to be completed by the beginning of 2024 to match the centenary of Karnataka Bank. We met this task head-on and managed to complete the end-to-end execution of the website in a record time of 6 months.
